Your African Safari Experience

Arriving at Savanna Private Game Reserve will feel like an African dream. It is a bush haven set deep in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Here you will get the chance to explore the bush and enjoy the African safari experience of a lifetime. The staff will help you settle in and provide you with refreshments before whisking you away on an exciting game drive.

In the heart of the Africa bush there are some sightings not to be missed. You will feel like one of the original pioneers of the area, learning about their lives and the regal Big Five. The Big Five were animals that turned the hunter into the hunted with their formidable strength. These animals are the Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino, each member has their own series of interesting stories which your guide will happily share with you.

After the game drive, your safari guide will take you back to the lodge for a satisfying cuisine experience. The kitchen team will provide you with starters, mains and desserts. After dinner you can continue the evenings festivities in the lounge or the bar, or head back to your suite for a good nights' rest. Then you can prepare yourself for the adventures of the following day.

In the mornings you wake up early and enjoy some morning refreshments before going out on a morning game drive. Again your guide will work at finding the animals you are most interested in. You can learn about wildlife tracking, the ecology of the area and how the reserve has maintained itself over the many years. After a few hours in the bush, you head back to the lodge for a nourishing breakfast.

When you are done with breakfast you can try out a walking safari or settle for some relaxation by the pool. Four of the suites have their own pool. Alternatively, you can go on a tour of the Shangaan Cultural Village or the Panorama Route. Savanna gives immense insight into the life and history of the Shangaan people. If this is of interest, you can learn about all the community programs and visit one of the cultural villages.

Later in the afternoon lunch is served. After lunch you can settle down again or you can get some souvenirs at the curio shop, use the internet facilities, transfer your digital photos or watch the wildlife stealthily moving around the safari lodge.

After high tea, the night game drive starts again, like the day before. Even though each day has the same activities, the sightings are different because the wildlife moves freely through the bush. So, kick back and relax on this African safari.
