Any of the three Djuma lodges that you select will ensure that your African bush experience will be special. Vayutela Lodge is a true gem in the African veld. Perhaps you would like to dip into your private plunge pool or sit on the observation deck to admire the wildlife that awaits you. Steaming tea and rusks are waiting for you on the main deck as you gather for your first African safari game drive.

The stir of anticipation seeps into your soul as you are introduced to your safari guide and driver who will accompany you for the next three days and enrich you with their knowledge of the Sabi Sand environment and its inhabitants. When you return from your game drive, you will have time to freshen up before dinner which is served on the sprawling verandah.

At the long, stately wooden table, stories of the day are exchanged and new found friendships are established. The main lounge is stunning at night, lit with paper mache animal trophy heads peering over the mosaic tiling around the hearth which sparkles when caught by the light. Reflect on the fulfilling day you have had on your South African safari.

When you are escorted back to your chalet you can settle into the comfort of your suite and  drift off to sleep with dreams of the following day. Cheetah Plains is perfect for families. Tucked into the woods each spacious chalet offers a home away from home.

The split level main lodge awaits the curious traveler as it is filled with animal charts and books that would rival any library. Families can sit together and learn about the wildlife, birds and bugs that inhabit the park.

Any unanswered questions can be asked of your dedicated driver and safari guide who will surely know the answers. It has the feel of a comfortable education center that makes it fun to learn as you are actually living the pages of the books. When you are not out exploring the veld you can watch the world go by on the viewing deck, take a guided bush walk or splash in the pool to refresh yourself. Galago Camp is perfect for small groups or families who want to be more independent. It is a fully equipped self-catering lodge with the conveniences of home, but your dedicated staff is there to ensure that your African safari is authentic. It is cozy with five twin rooms and one single room and yet spacious enough to provide privacy for those meditative moments when you want to soak in the solitude.

The open plan dining and lounge area surrounds the campfire which is blazing at night. Flexibility is key at Galago because you create your own schedule on your Kruger Park safari.  Your tracker, safari guide and chef are present at your command.

You’re in Big Five country so your experience is up close and personal. You are welcome to take your supplies or catering can be provided. It is your own special place to enjoy an individualized safari in Africa and create everlasting memories with your family, friends or colleagues.
